کوئی تصویر مکمل نہیں ہونے پائی
اب جو دیکھیں تو کوئی ایسی بڑی بات نہ تھی
یہ شب و روز مہ و سال کا پر پیچ سفر قدرے آسان بھی ہو سکتا تھا
یہ جو ہر موڑ پہ کچھ الجھے ہوئے رستے ہیں ان میں ترتیب کا امکاں بھی ہو سکتا تھا
ہم ذرا دھیان سے چلتے تو وہ گھر
جس کےبام و در و دیوار پہ ویرانی ہے
جس کے ہر طاق میں رکھی ہوئی حیرانی ہے
جس کی ہر صبح میں شاموں کی پریشانی ہے
ان میں ہم چین سے آباد بھی ہو سکتے تھے بخت سے امن کی راہیں بھی نکل سکتی تھیں
وقت سے صلح کا پیمان بھی ہو سکتا تھا

اب جو دیکھیں تو بہت صاف نظر آتے ہیں
سارے منظر بھی پس منظر بھی لیکن اس دیر خیالی کا صلہ کیا ہو گا؟ یہ تو سب بعد کی باتیں ہیں میری جان! انہیں ،
دیکھتے، سوچتے رہنے سے بھلا کیا ہو گا؟
وہ جو ہونا تھا ہوا ، ہو بھی چکا
وقت کی روح پہ لکھی ہوئی تحریر کے حرف
خط تنسیخ سے واقف ہی نہیں
بخت مکتب کے رجسٹر کی طرح ہوتا ہے اپنے غیر پہ جو لبیک نہیں کہ پاتے
ان کا کچھ عذر نہیں کوئی فریاد نہیں
جس کے بام و در و دیوار پہ ویرانی ہے
یہ وہ طائر ہیں جنہیں اپنی نوا یادنہیں

لائنیں کٹتی رہیں لفظ بدلنے کے سبب
کوئی تحریر مسلسل نہیں ہونے پائی حاصل عمر۔۔۔۔۔۔۔ یہی چند ادھورے خاکے
